Planmed Wave honors the centenary of Finland's independence

Planmed Wave ™ is a compact new acquisition station from Planmed. It is suited for all clinics in need of efficient and practical acquisition desk to pair up with a mammography or a digital breast tomosynthesis system. The station is ideal for users of all sizes thanks to the motorized height adjustment.

An optional radiation screen can be attached to the Planmed Wave™ or it can be used with a separate shield. Planmed’s product selection also includes a stand-alone radiation shield, which can be used together with Planmed Wave.

“After we launched our next generation mammography system Planmed Clarity ™, a little while back, we felt it needed a suitable companion by its side. That’s when we came up with the idea for a new acquisition station,” explains Product Manager Jukka Erkkilä when asked about the design process.

Both the material and the name of the desk have been chosen in honor of the centenary of Finland's independence.

“Finland celebrates 100 years of independence this year and birch is the national tree of Finland, so we chose to use birch wood as the material for the desk. The name ‘Wave’ refers to Baltic Sea surrounding Finland, and also to the fact that Finland is known as the Country of a Thousand Lakes. Planmed Wave is a tribute to our country and Finnish design,” Erkkilä describes.
